ERRATICS / BLOQUES ERRÁTICOS

Feature Film / In production / Digital

Production by Fiebre (Chile) / La Belle Affaire (France)

After a long time trapped in the glaciers of Patagonia, the ghost of filmmaker Lucien Castlenau breaks free. He wanders through the desolate landscapes of Tierra del Fuego, stopping in the territories where he once filmed the Kawésqar and Yagán peoples. Along the way, he encounters the new inhabitants of a technocratic society and the vestiges of an indigenous past.

Erratics is based on an ethnographic trip made by Paul Castelnau and Lucien Le Saint in 1925 to Tierra del Fuego, which resulted in the largest moving images record of the territory’s first nations, a documentary called La Terre de Feu.

An erratic, or erratic boulder, is a rock that differs from the surrounding rocks and is believed to have been brought from a distance by glacial action.
